The City of Saraland recently celebrated the opening of the new Municipal Complex and Saraland Event Center with a ribbon-cutting.
City and community leaders came together for the ceremony. Mayor Joe McDonald said the openings mark the final phase of the $6.6 million investment into the Municipal Complex development.
“This event center is an exciting addition to our city and a place where our community can gather, celebrate, and connect,” said McDonald. “It represents another step forward for Saraland as we continue investing in spaces that bring people together and support the growth of our city.”
The complex is off Highway 43.
The more than 25,000-square-foot event center includes space to host conferences, weddings, performances, meetings and community events. Separate rooms are available for small and large events, accommodating up to 1,800 people.
“This event center will allow us to host larger gatherings and create new opportunities for community engagement,” said Councilman Newton Cromer. “It’s a space that reflects the pride we have in Saraland and the bright future ahead.”
