For the first time since 2012, Spanish Fort has a new mayor. Mayor Brad Bass was sworn into office Monday night at the Spanish Fort City Hall.
“To the council people, city staff and residents of Spanish Fort, thank you for your support during this process,” Bass said. “I’m committed to working alongside each one of you to preserve what makes Spanish Fort special while also proactively planning for the future of our great city.”
“Together we will continue to invest in our neighborhoods, strengthen public safety, support small business and protect the beauty that surrounds us,” he added.
Bass said he would honor his campaign pledge of focusing on growing retail developments to bring in more revenue to the city.
“We’ve got to continue to recruit, fill these empty spaces up so we can meet the needs that a lot of folks in this room have,” said Bass, adding that other issues can be addressed after the additional revenue is made.
