A year after retiring, Nick Saban is set to enter the College Football Hall of Fame. The National Football Foundation announced Friday that the former Alabama head coach has been named to this year’s induction class.
Over his career, Saban won seven national championships, six of which were at the University of Alabama. Friday on the ESPN College GameDay broadcast before the College Football Playoff Semifinal game in the Cotton Bowl, Saban was notified that he would be inducted in the 2025 class.

Saban will be joining Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, Bear Bryant, and Gene Stallings as the fifth Alabama coach to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Before retiring last year, Saban coached 17 years at Alabama boasting a 201-19 record including six national titles and nine SEC titles.
Prior to taking the head coaching job at Alabama, Saban coached at LSU, Michigan State, and Toledo, finishing his head coaching career with seven national titles and a 297-71-1 record.
Another one of Saban’s biggest accomplishments was the amount of talent he filtered into the NFL. Saban sent a record-high 52 players, 47 while at Alabama, into the first round of the NFL Draft over his career. While at Alabama, 133 of his players were drafted into the NFL.
One of Saban’s former running backs and Heisman Trophy winner at Alabama, Mark Ingram, was also nominated for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame’s 2025 class.
On December 9 in Las Vegas, the official induction ceremony will take place.
