The legendary Nick Saban joined with an investor group to purchase Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach this week.
According to Hotel Business, Perdido Hotel Partners, an affiliate of Aurora Hospitality Partners, along with Terry and Nick Saban, Joe Agresti and a small group of investors, acquired the property, which has been serving families and the area for nearly 40 years.
Perdido Beach Resort has 344 guestrooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and over 44,000 sq. ft. of meeting space.
Aurora Hospitality Partners, which will manage the resort, says it will maintain the property’s legacy while refining the guest experience.
“We could not be more honored to steward a place that means so much to so many families across our state,” said Blair Plott, cofounder, Aurora Hospitality Partners. “It means a great deal to us that Perdido Beach Resort will move forward under the leadership of Alabamians who believe in the future of this community. Our focus is to build on its legacy and elevate the guest experience in a way that reflects the very best of Alabama.”
The resort will be closed for most of December as part of its annual practice, but will reopen under its new owners on December 30.
