Alabama will formally dedicate Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday during the Crimson Tide's game against South Florida.
The program announced the details of the ceremony on Wednesday. Scheduled for before and during Saturday night's home game, the event will end with Saban's name becoming a permanent feature of the team's home field.
Alabama Athletics put out a press release detailing the ceremonies that will take place on Saturday to honor Nick Saban.
The first of two ceremonies will begin at the Walk of Champions on University Blvd. around 2:30 p.m. CT. New stadium signage will be revealed during the ceremony with speaking appearances from President Dr. Stuart R. Bell, athletic director Greg Byrne and Nick Saban.
The second and final ceremony will take place on Saban Field after the Million Dollar Band’s halftime performance. The university will honor Nick Saban and Ms. Terry for their service to the university and the community.
During his tenure as Alabama’s head coach from 2007 to 2023, Saban won national championships in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2020 and secured nine SEC titles. Along with the many titles and championships, Saban raised more than $13 million for children’s causes in Alabama through his charity, the Nick’s Kids Foundation.
Alabama is scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT kickoff against South Florida in Saturday's inaugural game at Saban Field.
