A throwing error by Troy in the top of the 10th inning allowed Icess Tresvik to score the go-ahead run, securing the win for the Tigers.

No. 25 Auburn picked up a 4-3 road win over the Troy Trojans in extra innings.

Anna Wholers got the scoring started immediately with a sole home run over the center field wall in the top of the first inning to put Auburn on the board. Annabelle Widra hit an RBI single in the top of the fourth inning to extend Auburn's lead to 2-0.

Treo tied the game up with runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings. The teams each put a run across in the eighth inning before Shelby Lowe pitched two scoreless innings for the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth and 10th innings to secure the win.

Maddie Penta got the start and tossed eight innings in which she struck out 12 batters while allowing three runs off five hits.

Tresvik and Wholers were the only Tigers to have two hits. Makayla Packer, Widra and Wholers had Auburn's three RBI.

Auburn stranded 12 runners in the game. Five Tigers were walked while four were hit by a pitch.

Auburn is now 15-6-1 on the season and 2-4 in conference play.

The Tigers return to action this weekend for a road series against the Texas A&M Aggies. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT on Friday, 4:30 p.m. CT on Saturday and 1 p.m. CT on Sunday. Saturday's game can be found on SEC Network, while the other two can be found on SEC Network+.
