No. 4 Alabama rolls into an off week with a dominant 90-69 performance over Georgia.

A 14-0 run by the Crimson Tide early in the first half broke a 10-10 tie, and Alabama never looked back. The Crimson Tide are now 19-3 overall and 8-1 in SEC play, just one game behind undefeated Auburn in the SEC standings.

Here are a few takeaways from the game.

Breakout Performance for Sherrell

Aiden Sherrell had a career day thanks to a big first half. The nearly seven footer scored a season-high 12 points with 10 coming in the first 20 minutes. Sherrell drained two three pointers and pulled down seven rebounds off the bench for the Crimson Tide.

Too Many Turnovers

The Crimson Tide were able to overcome one of their worst games of taking care of the ball. The sloppy play started in the first half and never slowed down. Alabama turned the ball over 12 times in the first half and finished the game with 20 turnovers.

Defense Steps Up

Alabama’s defense had an excellent first half, holding Georgia to just 27% from the field and keeping the Bulldogs' leading scorer to just one basket in the first 20 minutes. Despite taking 19 more shots than Alabama, the Crimson Tide defense held the Bulldogs to just 36% from the field.

Avoided the Letdown Spot

Coming off a top-15 win over Mississippi State on Wednesday, Alabama avoided a possible letdown spot against a lesser Georgia team. The Crimson Tide handled business playing well on both ends of the court. After going on a 14-0 run in the first half, Georgia never got any closer than six points before the Tide blew the game wide open in the second half.

Alabama will travel to Arkansas next Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.
