Last Friday, Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth pushed back hard against pro-illegal immigration protesters in Albertville. He posted a video message on social media decrying the demonstrators’ insults to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and President Donald Trump during the rally Wednesday night that saw over a hundred attendees.
Reactions to his message —which garnered nearly 800 comments and over 1,500 likes across Facebook, Instagram and X — have been mixed, with most showing support for Ainsworth while others doubled down on criticizing ICE.

Many of the negative comments insulted Ainsworth or accused him of being racist while others repeated slogans used during the Albertville protest.
“No one is illegal on stolen land!” was a common refrain. Other commenters argued their right to protest without addressing the rampant traffic violations and exhibition driving, which the protesters cheered on.

Ainsworth said state law enforcement has formed a task force to support federal agencies enforcing Trump’s immigration policies.
According to WBRC 6, protesters held another immigration rally Saturday in Birmingham.
