The Alabama Wildlife Federation (AWF) won the bid for the lease with an option to buy the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center in Spanish Fort.
The $500,000 bid was the only one offered at auction.
Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources commissioner Chris Blankenship still has to approve the bid.
The resource center is a 70-acre site within the park that features an exhibit hall, learning center, theater, walking trails, picnic areas, a conference center and a reception hall.
The lease and or sale of the property will come with conditions to ensure public recreation. The AWF is expected to expand outdoor education and other uses.
The 10-year lease includes a purchase option for $8.5 million.
