U.S. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) has filed articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump for striking Iran without congressional approval.
Although House Democrat leadership is expected to table impeachment, Green's effort came in the wake of a war of words between Trump and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who floated impeachment immediately following the strikes on Iran.
U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) on Tuesday criticized Green for filing "baseless impeachment articles" and slammed Democrats for playing political games rather than helping American families.
"Democrats are more focused on filing baseless impeachment articles against [Trump] than working with House Republicans to continue delivering historic legislation. This is nothing more than a political game from a party who continues to show that their focus isn't on helping American families."
