Anne Griggs Roberts, age 64, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 4, 2022. Anne was born in Dalton, GA to Carl L. Griggs, Sr. and Charlotte J. Griggs. She graduated from Dalton High School and Auburn University, where she majored in accounting. She enjoyed the many friendships she made during her time as an Alpha Delta Pi, where she also served as sorority president. In December 1980, Anne married her college sweetheart, Dan Roberts. In their early years of marriage, they lived in Montgomery, AL, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Atlanta, GA before settling down in Birmingham, AL, where they raised their three boys, David, Steven, and Andrew. One of Anne's greatest joys was being involved in her sons' lives. She enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School, serving as team mom for their various sports, and homeschooling during the year the Roberts family served with Campus Outreach in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The Lord used Anne's gifts while serving in Community Bible Study where she discipled women and led them closer to the Lord. She later served as the assistant teaching director for the Birmingham South class. She was also a member of Junior League of Birmingham. Anne loved her family and cherished her relationships with her precious grandchildren. Everyone appreciated her clever sense of humor and her contagious laughter. In all circumstances, she learned to be content in her relationship with the Lord, daily living by her motto, "JESUS IS ENOUGH!" Anne was preceded in death by her father, Carl L. Griggs, Sr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Dan Roberts; her mother, Charlotte J. Griggs; her sons, David (Chelsea), Steven, and Andrew (Linley); her grandchildren, Charlotte Anne, Chandler, Caroline, Collier, Reese, Bennett, Emmy, and baby Boone expected in April; and three brothers, Carl Jr. "Bubba" (Karen), Glynn, and Mark (Beth). Anne is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Monday, March 7, at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL. Also on Monday, March 7, a Celebration of Life service was held at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the National Christian Foundation of Alabama, at 400 Office Park Drive, STE 201, Birmingham, AL 35223.
