On Friday, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social, branding the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as "one of the greatest political scams in American History."
The President's comments follow a Montgomery grand jury's indictment of the liberal organization on nearly a dozen counts of wire fraud, making false statements to a federally insured bank and money laundering.
"The Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the greatest political scams in American History, has been charged with FRAUD," wrote Trump. "This is another Democrat Hoax, along with Act Blue, and many others. "
"If it is true, the 2020 Presidential Election should be permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter," he added.
Two forfeiture actions have now been filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama Northern Division to recover alleged proceeds from the SPLC's scheme.
