The Mobile Police Department completed a successful “Operation Holiday Blitz” this week, executing five search warrants, ending in a dozen arrests and the seizure of 10 illegal gambling machines and a variety of illegal substances.

The investigation zeroed in on an area of Dauphin Island Parkway.

Detectives caught wind of illegal activity involving drugs and illegal gambling machines at businesses and obtained search warrants. Upon the execution of those search warrants, the machines and $1,937 in gaming money, along with five grams of cocaine, 265 grams of marijuana, five grams of synthetic marijuana and two grams of psilocybin mushrooms were found.

Those arrested were Leslie Carter, 40, charged with four counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and third-degree trespass; Samuel Montgomery, 44, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and two founds of tinted windows (warrants); Henry Thomas, 48, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and third-degree domestic violence (warrant); Tevelle Nelson, 34, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; John Magee, 43, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; Kendrick Moore, 26, charged with first-degree possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia; Gregory Moore, 28, charged with possession of a controlled substance, no child restraint (warrant), switched tag (warrant), and run stop sign (warrant); Darrell Wright, 47, charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and illegal possession of prescription drugs; Lenzy Barney, 46, charged with possession of controlled substance; Howard Johnson, 40, charged with first-degree possession of marijuana, Theodore Houze Jr., 54, charged with possession of gambling machines and promoting gambling; Ethel White, 31, charged with promoting gambling, no seatbelt (warrant), wrong way on one way street (warrant), improper lane usage (warrant), driving w/ learner’s permit only (warrant).

Still wanted in connection to the investigation are Daniel Johnson, 35, charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; Derrick Strait, 40, charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
