The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) Marine Patrol is investigating a drowning death that happened in Wolf Bay near Sapling Point.
Dewayne Stephens jumped into the water around 3:47 p.m. Sunday. He jumped from a pontoon boat, according to ALEA. He did not resurface, and rescue crews were called to the scene.
Around 10:14 p.m., his body was recovered by Daphne Search and Rescue.
Stephens, who is from Orange Beach, was 55 years old.
