I am fully vaccinated. I made a personal medical decision to take the vaccine developed by President Trump’s Project Warp Speed. I am however 100% opposed to Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates.
Biden tried to have the Centers for Disease Control issue a moratorium on evictions for renters not paying their rent. The Supreme Court struck this down as unconstitutional. Administrative agencies do not have this power. Now he is trying use the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) to ram vaccine mandates down our throats. This also is unconstitutional.
Furthermore, Biden’s vaccine mandates seek to replace the primary role of the states in public health beyond all past precedents. His order undermines the Constitution’s balance between Congress and the President and between Washington, D.C. and the states.
Besides being unconstitutional, these mandates are just wrong. Even within Dr. Anthony Fauci’s agency, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), there is not agreement on the mandates.
“There’s a lot of debate within the NIH about whether [a vaccine mandate] is appropriate,” David Wendler, the senior NIH bioethicist, said in the Wall Street Journal. “It’s an important, hot topic.”
Dr. Matthew Memoli, who runs a clinical studies unit within the NIH’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, opposes mandatory Covid-19 vaccination with currently available shots, and he has declined to be vaccinated.
The specter of vaccine mandates is having a devastating effect on the economy. Florida Senator Rick Scott stated: “The Federal Reserve admitted what I have been warning about for weeks: Joe Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates are causing higher turnover, driving Americans out of their jobs and further fueling the devastating supply chain and inflation crises plaguing American families.”
I applaud Governor Kay Ivey’s resolve to fight the mandates. As Governor Ivey has stated :”I will fight every step of the way.” Attorney General Steve Marshall has stepped up to the plate in a major way. Immediately after the rules for mandates were released, he filed a legal challenge in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, saying, “Today, I’ve challenged the Biden Administration’s latest attempt to wreck our nation’s economy while satiating the left’s infatuation with government-mandated immunization.
“Not only is this mandate based on a faulty public health premise — that workplace immunization will stop the spread of COVID — but it is based on an utterly flawed legal premise as well.”
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans has issued a temporary stay against Biden’s private sector mandates stating that this action was Federal overreach.
We must continue to fight. If these mandates are allowed to stand, Biden and the radical left’s next target will be mandatory vaccines for our children.
