The race for the Republican nomination for Alabama's U.S. Senate seat currently has U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) taking an early lead against his opponent, former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, according to a recent poll.
Moore and Hudson advanced to a runoff election last week after defeating Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall in the primary race.
The pair will now face one another on June 16 to decide the party's nominee for the seat soon to be vacated by U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who won the GOP gubernatorial nomination in the primary.

A poll commissioned by Club for Growth Action, the political action committee of Washington, D.C.-based Club for Growth, and conducted on May 17-18 by Pulse Decision Science, asked 518 likely Republican primary voters in Alabama who they intended to vote for.
Despite the poll having been taken in the lead-up to last week's primary, a Club for Growth PAC spokesperson stood by the results.
"Our polling is right. Hudson can keep pushing his fake polls."
The poll was conducted via live telephone interviews, with 80% on cell phones and the remaining 20% on landlines.
Moore leads by 17 points, with 53% selecting him as their preferred candidate. Hudson, on the other hand, only secured 36%. Of those polled, 11% were undecided.
