The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) announced the temporary closure of the Gordon Public Boat Ramp in Houston County.
The closure of the ramp on the Chattahoochee River off Boat Landing Road will be for erosion repairs and repaving.
Houston County will conduct the repairs.
The ramp will close on September 8 and is expected to remain closed for approximately three months. A reopening date will be announced at a later time.
The Sport Fish Restoration Program, supported through excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel and fishing equipment, as well as the sale of Alabama fishing licenses, is funding the project.
