Just a day before the season begins at the Theodore Athletic Association ballpark, a press box has been burned down and another damaged after someone apparently set them on fire overnight.
According to a report by WKRG, Theodore Athletic Association president Jacob Beach said a person entered a park press box with a gas can around 1 a.m. and started a fire. The person then went to another press box to do the same thing.
One of the press boxes was completely burned down, while the other was only partially burned, per the outlet.
As a result of the damage, the park's electricity is out.
It reportedly took Theodore-Dawes Fire Rescue about 45 minutes to put out the fire.
The season is set to open on Saturday, which will be a fundraiser for the park.
