A Prichard police officer was arrested and charged with kidnapping a minor.
According to authorities, David DeWayne Cunningham, 22, was arrested in Orange County, Fla., but the crime happened in Harrison County, Miss.
Mobile Police confirmed Cunningham worked for them until February of this year, when he resigned. At the time of his resignation, Cunningham had been under an administrative investigation. Police were unable to tell 1819 News what prompted that investigation.
Authorities said Cunningham left the Mobile Police Department and was able to get a job with the City of Prichard.
Cunningham is being held in the Orange County Jail with no bond because he is considered a fugitive from justice.
