State Sen. Pro-Tem Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman) defended his District 4 seat during Tuesday’s primary race, easily defeating challenger J.R. Bowling with 64.7% of the vote.
Gudger received 15,422 votes to Bowling’s 8,432, according to unofficial results posted on the Alabama Secretary of State's website.
Gudger has represented District 4 since 2018. He’s served as pro-tem since December 2024.
Without any Democratic opposition, Gudger is the presumptive winner of District 4.
