Longtime prosecutor Kristi Hagood won the Republican primary for Circuit Court Judge Place 7.
Hagood had 63% (18,867) of the votes according to unofficial election results.
Her opponent, Jeremiah Giles, lost with 37% (11,216) of the votes.
Hagood has been practicing law for 25 years. Along with her experience as a prosecutor, she has taken post-graduate courses in healthcare law and mediation. She also has experience in residential and commercial real estate, medical contracts and elder law issues.
Hagood will not face a Democratic candidate in the November general election.
