Former Alabama Republican Party chairman and candidate for lieutenant governor John Wahl has released a campaign video highlighting his established conservative record and vision for the Yellowhammer State.

"As chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, I've been on the front lines as we defend our values and fight for our freedoms," Wahl says in the video. "Alabama deserves bold, principled leadership that puts families first, defends our God-given rights, and restores limited government."

Wahl also articulated his campaign's core tenets.

"This campaign is about protecting our values, strengthening our state, and leading the nation with commonsense policies that restore the American Dream," he continued. "Now more than ever, we must stand strong for our shared values, defend the freedoms that make Alabama exceptional, and ensure government works for the people—not the other way around."

Wahl added, "I'm running to serve the people of Alabama and to fight for a future our children and grandchildren can be proud of."

In the GOP primary election for the office, Wahl is facing off against Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen, Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries Rick Pate, Nicole Wadsworth, George Childress, Dr. Stewart Tankersley and Pat Bishop.

The primary election in Alabama is on May 19.
