She’s a Mobilian, so it will be a sort of homecoming.
Alabama’s newly sworn Chief Justice Sarah Stewart will speak to the Mobile County Republican Party on Monday, April 7. A Meet and Greet will be from 5 to 6 p.m., and the meeting of the Mobile County Republican Executive Committee starts at 6, when Justice Stewart will speak.
The public is invited. No ticket or RSVP is needed, and there is no cost. The meeting is at The Grand Hall, 3556 Halls Mill Road, Mobile.

Stewart was elected Chief Justice in November 2024 and took office in January 2025. She was previously an Associate Justice on the Alabama Supreme Court from 2019 to 2025. She had been a Circuit Judge of Mobile County, serving from 2006 to 2019 where she ran unopposed three times.
Stewart holds BA and MA degrees in communications from the University of Arkansas and a Juris Doctorate (law degree) from Vanderbilt University. Both schools are in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Prior to taking the bench, Stewart worked as a private attorney in Mobile. She was president of the Mobile Young Lawyers Association and was active in Leadership Mobile and the Ashland Place Methodist Church.
