During an interview on Newsmax TV's "American Agenda," U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) said after the first impeachment hearing of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the current border crisis stems from the Biden administration.

Aderholt said on Wednesday, "There's just a lot of concern in the House of Representatives and in the Senate about what's going on at the border."

"We're right now focusing on Mayorkas, but really it comes down to Joe Biden, the Biden administration. And that's where it's all stemming from," he added. "Mayorkas, of course, is hired by the Biden administration to do this. So while we're really focusing on Mayorkas, the real problem is the Biden administration itself."

Aderholt joined the U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) and 64 other House Republicans in a visit to the southern border last week to further pressure the Biden administration to address the growing migrant crisis.

"The word had gotten out that particular day that we were going to be there. And so we understand the cartels were actually not sending people in the direction where we were, but there were still people coming," Aderholt said. "It's estimated there in Eagle Pass $32 million is made by the cartels at the Eagle Pass entry point alone, and so it's just showing you that it is a big business down there. We have got to get a handle on it."
