State Rep. Kelvin Lawrence (D-Hayneville) defeated a Republican challenger by a 55%-to-45% margin to keep his House District 69 seat for another four years, according to results by WFSA with 97% voting.
Lawrence was victorious over Karla Knight Maddox, a Republican challenger, by a margin of 8,766 to 7,144.
Lawrence has been a state representative since 2014.
