Rudolph Drake won the Democrat nomination for State Senate District 2 on Tuesday.
Drake defeated Alex House by a 53% to 47% margin in the Huntsville-area district.
Drake will face John Roberts, a Republican, in the November general election. The seat is open due to State Sen. Tom Butler (R-Madison) retiring.
