On Friday, former Alabama football coach Nick Saban provided some late-season wisdom for his former team as the Crimson Tide make a run at the College Football Playoff.

Alabama is ranked fourth in the AP poll and is considered to have the fourth-best odds of winning the national championship.

The legendary Alabama coach-turned ESPN analyst warned the Tide against getting a case of the "poor me's," which he said often occurs late in the season when players are tired and dealing with injuries.

"This has been a tremendous grind for this team," Saban said of his former team on "The Pat McAfee Show." "I mean, they've played like four or five games in a row against really top opponents. Now, they're going to go play Oklahoma, who is a top opponent. LSU is no slouch, regardless of what you think from a player standpoint."

He continued, "So, they've been through this gauntlet, so can they build on the momentum that they have, or are they going to get the 'poor me's' I call it because your team gets the poor me's at this time of the season: Poor me, I'm tired. Poor me, I'm hurt, poor me, this and that. And if you get that, then you don't practice as well, you don't prepare as well, you don't play as well, and those things start showing up in your performance, and I'm just hoping this team can sustain their way through it and prove that they are where they should be."
