The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division is continuing its search for a Wetumpka man believed to be missing on the Alabama River.
James Dawkins, 54, was reported missing after launching his boat near Shelton Landing at 5:30 a.m. Saturday. ALEA Cpt. Jeremy Burkett said Dawkins was in a Jon boat that was equipped with only a trolling motor.
ALEA’s Aviation Unit has been searching the area since Saturday. The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Autauga County Rescue Squad, the Millbrook Police Department and the Elmore County Emergency Management Agency are assisting.
