It may have taken two rounds longer than he had hoped for, but Jalen Milroe is officially an NFL player.
In the third round on Friday, Milroe was selected with the No. 92 pick by the Seattle Seahawks. Milroe's selection was announced by former Alabama and Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander.
Milroe is the third Alabama player to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, behind Tyler Booker at No. 12 to the Dallas Cowboys and Jihaad Campbell, who went No. 31 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Thursday night’s first round.
Over the past two seasons, Milroe has been the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback as well as a team captain. Last year, Milroe passed for 2,844 yards for 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. On the ground, the dual-threat quarterback rushed for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns, setting a school record for most rushing touchdowns for a quarterback in a single season.
A lack of ability to read a defense and poor accuracy at short and intermediate passes led to his drop down draft boards. Milroe is by far the most athletic and fastest quarterback in this year’s draft after clocking a team-reported 4.37 40-yard dash time.
Rounds four through seven of the draft will be on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.
