Following the discovery of 186 illegally registered noncitizens, 25 of whom voted in Alabama elections, Secretary of State Wes Allen has released a list of the counties where the illegal registrations and voting took place.

"I have been clear that our elections should be decided by American citizens and only American citizens," Allen said in a press release. "Through a cooperative effort with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, my office used the federal SAVE database to identify the names of people who are not American citizens but who registered to vote and, in some cases, cast ballots in our elections."

"I will not tolerate this," he added.

According to Allen's data, Jefferson County had the largest number of illegally registered noncitizens in the state, with 25 individuals being purged from Alabama's voter rolls. Second was Madison County, with 21 illegally registered noncitizens identified. Mobile ranked third on the list after 19 illegally registered noncitizens were discovered in the county.

The counties where the 25 cases of illegal voting occurred are: Baldwin (3), Blount (1), Chilton (1), Clarke (1), Colbert (2), Franklin (1), Henry (1), Houston (1), Jefferson (2), Lee (2), Madison (1), Marion (1), Marshall (1), Mobile (1), Montgomery (3), Morgan (1), Pike (1) and Tallapoosa (1).

Allen said he is referring the matter to local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities for review and any appropriate action.
