After already making significant gains in restricting immigration and increasing border security, U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) are pushing for President Donald Trump to advance more pro-life policies.

Tubverville and Britt joined dozens of lawmakers in a letter to Trump on Thursday — the day before the March for Life in Washington D.C. — urging him to reverse the Biden administration's policies that promoted and funded abortion at the federal level. The letter was endorsed by most of the country's leading pro-life organizations.

"Over the last four years, President Biden, Vice President Harris and their administration systematically weaponized the government against the unborn, their mothers and pro-life Americans—doing their very best to erase every trace of life-affirming victories from your first administration," the letter reads. "We look forward to the reinstatement of Trump policies on life in the first days of your second term, getting the country back to a life-affirming whole-of-government approach to supporting pregnant and parenting women and their children, born and unborn. Pro-life Members of Congress stand ready to support your efforts to get the federal government out of the business of actively promoting abortion and back to victories established during your first four years in the Oval Office."

It continued, "The resources Biden and Harris poured into a federal infrastructure to promote abortion, including late-term abortion, across the government abandoned women in need. Those resources should be redirected to address underlying challenges that cause pressure to abort."

The two senators also put their names on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act to protect children who survive abortion attempts by requiring doctors to provide lifesaving health care to infants who are born after a failed abortion attempt.

After passing the House, Senate Republicans were not able to break the Democratic filibuster on the bill when it came to the floor for a cloture vote Thursday, with every Senate Democrat opposing it.

This week, Tuberville also joined U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in sponsoring the Defund Planned Parenthood Act, which would ensure federal tax dollars don't go to organizations like Planned Parenthood to perform abortions.

"Since I got to Washington, I have been a champion for the unborn," Tuberville said. "As Suzanne and I are welcoming our first grandchild this year, we have been reminded that every baby's life is precious. This is not about Republican or Democrat; this is about right and wrong. President Trump has a strong record of pro-life policies, and I am confident that his administration will continue to stand for life. I'm proud to partner with my Republican colleagues to fight for the most vulnerable among us."

On Wednesday, Trump pardoned dozens of anti-abortion protestors targeted by the Department of Justice under the Biden administration.
