After the announcement of Orange Beach City Councilman Jeff Boyd running for mayor against Tony Kennon, some council candidates shifted gears on the last day of qualifying.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jack Robertson, also known as "Alabama Big Earl," was unopposed for place one.
Current place one Councilwoman Annette Mitchell qualified to run for place two, against Ginger Harrelson, a business owner and former attorney for the City of Orange Beach.
Place three incumbent Jerry Johnson will be challenged by Jay Neese.
Place four incumbent Jeffrey Silvers was unopposed.
Place five Councilman Joni Blalock is not running for re-election. Robert Stuart II has qualified for place five and was unopposed.
Qualifying ends at 5 p.m.
The municipal election will be on August 26.
