After a three-day trial, Irwing Ivan Jaramillo-Teodoro, 45, was convicted on four counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old in Shelby County.
Jaramillo-Teodoro was originally arrested and charged in 2016, but after posting bond, he evaded capture for seven years.
“We are very thankful for the bravery and steadfastness our victims showed by facing their abuser after so many years on the run,” said District Attorney Matt Casey. “Their testimony, along with the work of the investigative team, ensured that this Defendant faced justice for his heinous acts.”
Jaramillo-Teodoro will be sentenced on March 2. He faces up to 80 years in prison and will not be eligible for parole.
