A shooting immediately following a parade for the National Peanut Festival in Dothan has left one dead and two injured.
The gunfire erupted Saturday morning at the intersection of West Main Street and Montana Street.
A bullet hit Garyoun Tyrone Fluellen, 22, in the chest. He was pronounced dead after he arrived at Southeast Health.
Another victim went into surgery and was in stable condition by Saturday afternoon.
Medical personnel took another victim to the hospital.
The shooting happened after two individuals got into a fight at the intersection as the parade was leaving. One of them produced a gun and fired into a group.
Witnesses told media that the large crowd gathered to watch the parade all dispersed in different directions after they heard gunfire.
The National Peanut Festival has been held in Dothan for over 70 years. It is a 10-day event with nearly 200,000 attendees annually.
The Dothan Police Department (DPD) is searching for two 18-year-olds: Mekhi Nasir Lawton and Mark Quinten Small, Jr. The DPD asks that anyone with any information call 334-615-3000.
