The Bay Minette Police Department arrested seven suspects from a front yard after receiving a call about shots fired.
Police responded to the scene near the intersection of South Street and Bay Street Thursday evening. Once on the scene, officers smelled marijuana and observed shell casings on the grass. Those on the scene refused to allow for a search, and officers obtained a search warrant.
Two assault type rifles, ammunition, drug paraphernalia and marijuana were seized.
Thomas Travell Golden, 19, was charged with second-degree hindering prosecution, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Xavier Edwin Nelson, 19, was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Shadonnoy Cooke, 20, was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Brandon Michael Juvenal, 18, was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Brenda Ann Floyd, 19, was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Michale Lashay Grace, 20, was charged with attempting to elude police and active warrants; and Maurice Anbtonio Hobbs, 19, was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and active warrants.
“The seized weapons and other evidence recovered at the scene will be sent for forensic analysis to link them to other similar crimes in the city,” police stated. “Additional charges may be forthcoming.”
The suspects were booked into the Baldwin County Correctional Facility. They are considered innocent until proven guilty.
No one was injured.
