The Dothan Police Department is investigating a shooting outside the AMC 12 Theater, according to reports.

Multiple police units responded to the theater on Montgomery Highway at approximately 8:30 p.m.

WDHN reported police searched the area, and officers were spotted on the roofs of nearby buildings.

No one was injured, according to Rickey Stokes News. A person was taken into police custody from the scene. Witnesses said the shooter fired shots after being denied access to an R-rated movie.

This is not the first violent incident outside of the theater. In 2020, a person was shot in the ankle when someone in a vehicle shot into a crowd.
