An undercover human trafficking operation in Spanish Fort ended in the arrests of seven people.

Joseph Scaramucci, a renowned law enforcement officer from Texas and director of law enforcement engagement for Skull Games Solutions, said the operation took place in broad daylight.

“Blocks away from the same stores, restaurants and businesses where families shop and spend their weekends,” Scaramucci said. “Seven arrests.”

The names of those arrested have not been released but Scaramucci shared photos of the operation taking place. He said one trafficking victim was identified along with the person who was trafficking her.

“On-scene victim support was provided by The Little Tree Project, an Alabama-based advocacy organization doing incredible work on the ground. Additional victims were identified, along with the traffickers exploiting them, and those investigations will continue,” he added.

Skull Games Solutions provided training to eight local law enforcement agencies leading up to the sting. The Spanish Fort Police Department hosted the training.

“One nervous predator summed it up best during the operation: ‘A lot of busts have been happening in Daphne and Spanish Fort,” said Scaramucci. “That’s exactly the point. When communities, law enforcement, and advocacy partners work together, a city becomes hostile ground for traffickers and those who exploit the vulnerable.”
