The court case of Ethan Stuckey, 20, of Enterprise, will continue after he undergoes a mental evaluation.
Stuckey pleaded not guilty to the 2023 murder of his father, 42-year-old Russell Stuckey.
Investigators said the son shot his dad and fled to Colorado. Enterprise police discovered the victim’s body when they were called to a residence to investigate a gas leak.
A psychologist with the Alabama Department of Mental Health will perform the mental evaluation and determine if Stuckey is fit to stand trial.
