The City of Foley is hosting a municipal election candidate forum on August 14.

The municipal election in most cities statewide will be held on August 26.

Foley marketing communications manager Guy Busby said the forum will give residents a chance to meet the candidates for the four contested council seats. The event is being organized by the South Baldwin Common Sense Campaign.

"Audience members will be asked not to applaud or make other responses during the forum," Busby stated.

Candidates invited to the forum are:

District 1
Barry Hughes
Wayne Trawick (I)

District 2
Donald Barnett
Timothy "Tim" Lower
Vera Quaites (I)

District 4
Larry Engel
Phillip Hinesley

District 5
Charles Ebert III (I)
Derrick Perdue

The council district 3 seat and the mayoral seat are uncontested.

The forum will be held at the Foley Civic Center starting at 6 p.m.

Foley council district information is available online.
