Spanish Fort Fire Rescue is asking for public support following a serious crash involving one of its own.
Firefighter Will Taylor was involved in the crash on March 9, and his injuries will keep him out of work for months, family says.
Taylor has been with the department for three-and-a-half years. He is known as a “friend, a brother, and someone who gives his all to serve this community,” the department stated.
A GoFundMe page was set up to help Taylor as he faces a long road to recovery.
“The injuries he sustained will keep him from returning to work for several months, creating a challenging situation for him and his loved ones,” friends said. “As a first responder, Will has always been there for others in times of need. Now, as he faces a long road to recovery, he needs our support more than ever. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering Will's medical bills and essential living expenses while he is unable to work. Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden and allow Will to focus on healing.”
The department asked the community to stand behind Taylor, as he has done for the past several years.
