One of Alabama's staunchest defenders of preserving Title IX will be at the White House on Wednesday as President Donald Trump signs an executive order banning biological men from competing in women’s sports.

The order, "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports," is expected to apply to colleges, K-12 schools and other entities that receive federal funding.

State Rep. Susan DuBose (R-Hoover) will join Trump as the president fulfills a prominent promise made in his 2024 campaign. The White House reportedly expects the NCAA to change its rules in accordance with the order once it is signed.

The Central Alabama Republican said it was an "honor" to join Trump at the White House and emphasized the importance of rejecting "the woke transgender agenda." She

“It is an honor to be included as President Trump signs an order that brings a new level of safety, fairness, and competition to women’s sports,” DuBose said in a statement announcing her White House visit. “We must reject the woke transgender agenda and return to common sense and fundamental morals and values, and President Trump’s order takes a big step in that direction.”

DuBose successfully passed legislation requiring college athletes in Alabama to compete based upon their biological sex at birth. The Independent Women’s Forum, a Virginia-based conservative non-profit dedicated to policies that promote freedom, opportunities and well-being for women across the nation, deemed her a "champion for women's rights” for her efforts.
