State Rep. Bob Fincher (R-Woodland) won’t seek another House District 37 term in 2026.
Fincher told 1819 News in an interview on Tuesday that he planned on finishing out his current term but wouldn’t seek re-election.
“I’ve served three terms in the Legislature. From the time I started running, I’ve been a supporter of term limits so I’m limiting my terms and I’m coming home after this one. I’ve got one more year left in this term and we’ll finish that out. That’ll be my twelfth year in the Legislature,” Fincher said.
He continued, “I’m a retired teacher. I’ve been retired for over 20 years, but I’ve always done something. By the time I leave office, I’ll be 77 years old so it’s time to let the younger generations in I think.”
