A misdemeanor domestic violence case allegedly involving State Rep. Tracy Estes (R-Winfield) was settled on Thursday with a prosecutor and Christina Estes.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department arrested Estes for domestic violence in the third degree in September. Estes pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to the complaint, the alleged incident occurred around August 20. Estes allegedly threatened his wife, Christina Estes, verbally and "turned the heat on in the room where she was taking shelter trying to force her out of the room."
The case was settled and dismissed on Thursday.
According to a court filing, terms of the settlement include a protection order remaining in full force and effect for two years, court costs paid by Tracy Estes, and Tracy Estes having to complete a PEACE program offered through Safeplace or equivalent court-approved domestic violence offender program.
