Early voting legislation could be “on the table” for Alabama, according to State Sen. Arthur Orr (R-Decatur).
Alabama is one of three states that doesn’t offer early, in-person voting before the day of the election.
Orr said on Huntsville radio WVNN's "The Dale Jackson Show" he wouldn’t be surprised to see someone file early voting legislation.
“I think it will be looked at," Orr told host Dale Jackson. "We will have to take a very conservative and we’re just not going to just mail out en masse ballots to any and all. But we take a very conservative and controlled approach to it, I think it’s on the table. I think we can come up with something like that looking at what has worked in other states. I would not be surprised at all to see legislation. We just need to make sure it is controlled and there are security aspects to it."
