Your tax dollars paid for it. The State used it for a while. Now, it’s on sale at public auction to reclaim some of those dollars for taxpayers.
The state surplus property auction, which the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) runs, includes items from federal agencies and abandoned airport property.
It’s underway now and runs through Sunday at 6 p.m.
Public viewing and inspections of the inventory will be allowed at the Surplus Property Division’s Montgomery Distribution Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to Friday.
ADECA holds online public auctions periodically each year, but surplus items are available for purchase at any time to municipal and county governments, state agencies and qualified nonprofit organizations.
All items are sold as is without guarantees. All sales are final upon pickup and removal of the property.
Only qualified bidders can participate.
