U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) spoke about the increasing dominance of radical leftists within the Democratic Party during a discussion on WVNN's "The Dale Jackson Show" on Monday morning.
Strong told Jackson that more traditional Democrats are aligning with the far left in their party by supporting candidates like Zohran Mamdani in the upcoming New York mayoral race.
"They marked their identity," Strong said. "There's no doubt they've endorsed a so-called Democrat socialist in New York. And let me tell you something that might appeal to the people of New York, New Jersey and some of those out there, but not [elsewhere].”
The congressman believes the Democratic push for socialism will ultimately backfire.
“But I will tell you this right here.I think you're gonna make our country even more red than it is now. Socialism is not a subject that even Democrats want to talk about in most cases."
Strong was then asked if he was surprised to see a far-left candidate aligning with socialists running in his highly conservative home district.
"I think the more than three-quarters of a million people in the Fifth District of Alabama will look at this and say, not even a consideration. But again, this republic is alive and well, and I think it just gives an opportunity for the people of this district to show that is not what we want leading our community, "Strong added.
