The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating a fatal crash involving a special needs bus in Lee County.
Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash at 6:54 a.m. on U.S. 29. The roadway was closed for several hours while emergency crews responded.
According to multiple reports, Corbin Hamby Jr., 49, Tyrone Williams, 53, were killed. Hamby was a student at Valley Haven School. Williams was the driver of another vehicle involved in the crash.
Several others were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The bus belongs to Valley Haven School in Chambers County. The school provides education, training, special instruction and other services for the intellectually disabled. Students are from preschool age to adulthood.
