An officer with the Leeds Police Department arrested a man suspected in two separate shootings from Monday evening into Tuesday’s early morning hours.
Daniel P. Watson, 28, of Pell City, is the suspect in all four killings.
Birmingham Police believe Watson first killed two victims at a home in South Eastlake. Those victims have been identified as Tiffany Michele Hernandez and Jason Joseph Brown, both 40 years old. The two were found inside the house in the 8000 block of 8th Avenue South after Leeds Police contacted BPD and told them a double homicide suspect out of St. Clair County confessed to killing two others in Birmingham.
The Leeds officer recognized the vehicle that was part of a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) issued by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
St. Clair County Sheriff Billy Murray said deputies had responded earlier to a home at 1 Ivy Drive, in Ragland, on a disturbance call. They found Amber L. Manning, 27, dead in the driveway when they arrived. Inside the house, they found Timothy R. Davidson, 62, suffering from a gunshot wound. Davidson was flown to UAB, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators have not released a motive for the shootings. Birmingham Police said the suspect knows some of the victims.
Watson is charged with capital murder and murder in St. Clair County, and additional charges are expected out of Birmingham. He is being held in the St. Clair County Jail with no bond.
