A Jefferson County Grand Jury indicted one of three people arrested in connection with an October 19 shooting at a place known as “The Pit” in the eastern part of the county.

Steven Tyler Whitehead, 28, of Brookwood, was indicted this week with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Cleveland High School cheerleader Kimber Mills was shot and killed at a bonfire gathering.

Authorities arrested Whitehead for the shooting but later arrested two others for alleged actions prior to the shooting.

Silas McCay and Joshua McCulloch are charged with third-degree assault.

All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty.
