Just days after his first interview, Brad Presnall, a contracted consultant for the Alabama Education Association (AEA), appeared on WVNN's "The Dale Jackson Show" to double down on previous remarks touting the group's newfound conservative bona fides. This time, he shockingly made the comparison between AEA and foreign dictators, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un.
Jackson began the conversation by saying, "My position has been we would not be having this conversation if the AEA used its power for good for the last 40 years as opposed to prop up essentially the Democrat machine in Alabama."
Presnall ceded that point and lamented, "Some people have made it very clear that no matter what AEA does, they will hate them and won't be willing to work with them in any manner. And AEA knows that."
The fateful dictator comparison came near the end of the show, when Presnall was singing the praises of Alabama Republican Party chairman John Wahl.
Presnall said of Wahl, "If he has a good relationship with somebody who in the past has been seen as an enemy, I think that's a good thing. It's just like Trump having a relationship, a verbal relationship with Putin and Kim Jong-un and other people who are traditionally an enemy."
When Jackson asked about the AEA's $100,000 to State Rep. Barbara Drummond (D-Mobile) in her failed race for Mobile mayor, the AEA spokesman said, "She supported AEA and education issues in the state, and they're loyal. And she was running for mayor, and she asked for the support, and they gave it to her opponent, did not ask for the support, did not reach out for a meeting, a call, or anything."
"Would he have got it?" Jackson asked.
Presnall replied, "I doubt it," before apparently backtracking and adding, "I mean, who knows? I mean, I don't know."
